Education

Our Hula Show is designed to go beyond entertainment by weaving cultural education into every part of the evening. Each island we visit has its own heartbeat, language, and traditions, and we are honored to share them with you.

Through narration, audience participation, and authentic performances, guests leave with a deeper understanding of the interconnected cultures of Polynesia and the role dance and storytelling play in keeping traditions alive.

Hawai'i

Hula is the living heartbeat of Hawaiʻi, expressing history and emotion through movement. We open with Hula Kahiko (ancient hula), rooted in chant and tradition, followed by graceful ʻAuana (modern hula). Through mele (songs) like Aloha Ia No A Maui, we honor legendary navigator Maui, the royal house of Piʻilani, and the beauty of our island home.

Tahiti

Tahiti is known for its pulsating drum rhythms and vibrant dance traditions. The fast-paced ʻOtea reflects the energy of Polynesian voyaging and resilience, while the elegant ʻAparima tells poetic stories through hand gestures. Songs like Te Pua Noanoa and Ana ʻE celebrate love, land, and community.

Aotearoa (New Zealand)

The Māori people of Aotearoa welcome guests with karanga (ceremonial call) and demonstrate unity and warrior strength through the haka. With poi dancing and graceful women’s performances, Māori culture beautifully blends strength and artistry.

Sāmoa

Sāmoa’s Siva Afi (fire knife dance) is a thrilling display of courage and skill. Once a martial art performed with war blades, it evolved into a fiery spectacle influenced by global traditions — a true highlight of Polynesian celebration.
